If you, your friends or your children or grandchildren would like to experience the display away from a crowd before or after Mass, we will have some special display hours this coming week, Tuesday and Wednesday, December 22nd and 23rd, from 5:30 to 7:30pm. Please enter through the main church entrance under the carport---the only door that will probably be unlocked!)
We are offering a new approach to Baptismal preparation that will offer individual consideration for each family. When a family is expecting a baby or has a newborn or young child, we ask that you call the parish office and speak to Marti Barnes, our Pastoral Associate. After giving her some preliminary information, a time to meet for the preparation session can be scheduled at everyone’s convenience. CLICK TITLE FOR MORE DETAILS

Because of the COVID19 pandemic many of our ministries have had to be put on hold or adjusted in some way. So it is with our Christian Initiation process, commonly known as the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults), here at St. Joseph. We welcome anyone desiring to deepen their relationship with Our Lord, Jesus Christ, through participation and membership in the Catholic Church. The RCIA process is open to adults and children who have reached the age of reason, usually around 7 years of age who are unbaptized, or baptized in another Christian faith tradition, or baptized in the Catholic faith with little or no follow up such as First Communion. We will provide an ongoing “Inquiry” phase. This means that you can “inquire” at any time during the year. Inquiry is the first phase in the RCIA process, a time to bring questions or concerns you may have about Catholicism. It is an informal time of exploration and dialogue. If you, or someone you know, is interested in looking at our Faith, please call our Pastoral Associate, Marti Barnes, at 513-941-3661 x 12, or email at martibarnes@stjosephnorthbend.com. We will take all precautionary steps, social distancing, wearing face coverings, etc. during our meetings.
Praised be Jesus Christ, now and forever! Happy Spring! (It seemed like the spring weather would never get here!) I continue to hope and pray that you are all doing well. I realize that, for some of you, this is the first communication you have heard from me since public Masses were suspended. Limited staffing and volunteers made it difficult to do a bulk mailing. Please know that I have been thinking of you and praying for you throughout this time. I have sent out several email messages. I am very grateful for ... CLICK TITLE TO READ MORE
This series is a magnificent adaptation of this most famous Jane Austen novel from the Nineteenth Century. It takes place in the early 1800’s (1820’s?) in England. The entire series runs about five hours and is very well done in a variety of ways (screenplay, dialogue, acting, costumes and “on location” sets). For many, it is entertaining to the point of addiction, but it is a little bit confusing at first. This “orientation commentary” is my attempt to do what someone did for me when I watched it for the first time, to define some terms and clarify a few issues for the first-time viewer (maybe the second and third-time viewer as well!).

"Because of Easter, we believe and we proclaim that suffering and death lead to resurrection and new life. Easter promises us there is no darkness that cannot be overcome. The way of discipleship does not end in the tomb. With Jesus we rise and go forward unafraid."
Well, our confinement continues! If it is driving you crazy, you are not alone. We are called again and again to turn to the Lord in prayer and to do what is best for ourselves, our families, and the wider community. Let’s stay healthy! [CLICK TITLE FOR THE FULL MESSAGE]

My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there, and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.
I hope and pray that you and your families are doing well physically, psychologically and spiritually. Here in our little corner of the world in the North Bend/ Cleves/ Mack, Western Bridgetown and southeastern Indiana area, we are facing this world-wide problem, together, but...
